For those following the story of GPT-4o’s flirty voice, OpenAI is “working to pause” the voice of Sky while they reassess. This, just after Scarlett Johannsson released a statement saying the voice sounded eerily like hers even though she’d declined the offer. What will be interesting is whether this is pursued as copyright infringement or ‘right to publicity’ or consent. Either way, I am pleased the voice is being addressed because it seemed to blur the lines of AI user-assistant roles by reinforcing unhelpful gender stereotypes. Stay tuned. #genai #chatgpt #gpt4o

#ChatGPT maker OpenAI exploring how to 'responsibly' make #AI eroticaA little snippet below but I'm a bit surprised OpenAI is doing this as it seems off-brand, which to me seemed more business-oriented. Furthermore, the rush by AI firms to essentially run large scale human experiments without understanding the long term implications of their actions on how humans interact seems reckless."OpenAI, the artificial intelligence powerhouse behind ChatGPT and other leading AI tools, revealed on Wednesday it is exploring how to "responsibly" allow users make AI-generated porn and other explicit content. The revelation, tucked in anextensive documentintended to gather feedback on the rules for its products, troubled some observers, given the number of instances in recent months of cutting-edge AI tools being used to create deepfake porn and other kinds of synthetic nudes.Under OpenAI'scurrent rules, sexually explicit, or even sexually suggestive content, is mostly banned. But now, OpenAI is taking another look at that strict prohibition."https://lnkd.in/eJNawM9J

Sam Altman’s favorite movie is “Her” Maybe that’s why chatgpt4o sounds eerily similar to Scar Jo’s voice. OpenAI's recent ChatGPT voice model "Sky" sparked major controversy for sounding eerily similar to actress Scarlett Johansson's voice from the movie "Her." 🎥 This led to OpenAI hitting pause on using the Sky voice for their GPT-4o model. 🛑Despite OpenAI claiming the voice wasn't intended to mimic Johansson, the resemblance was uncanny! 🤯 Scarlett expressed shock and anger, especially after previously declining to lend her voice to ChatGPT. 😡Her legal team demanded the removal of the voice, highlighting the need for transparency and legislation to protect individual rights against such uses. 📜This controversy has ignited a broader conversation about the ethical implications of AI voice models and the potential to mimic real individuals without consent. 🗣️ OpenAI's decision to pull Sky reflects the challenges tech companies face in navigating copyright, privacy, and ethics. 🚨The incident also underscores growing concerns over deepfakes and the importance of safeguarding identities in the digital age. 🔒 As AI technology advances, clear guidelines and protective measures become crucial to ensure respect for individual rights and prevent misuse. 📢What are your thoughts on this AI voice controversy? Are we overlooking the importance of Ethics and Responsible AI?Recently, OpenAI faced significant controversy over its #ChatGPT voice model named "Sky." Users and critics pointed out its striking resemblance to Scarlett Johansson's voice, particularly her portrayal of an AI assistant in the film "Her." This led OpenAI to pause the use of the Sky voice profile for its GPT-4o model.OpenAI clarified that the voice was not intended to mimic Johansson but was the natural speaking voice of a different professional actress. Nevertheless, the resemblance sparked discussions and even legal concerns. If pioneers like OpenAI face such controversies, imagine how other companies adopting AI might face challenges in navigating copyright, privacy, and ethical considerations in AI development. As AI advances, the need for clear guidelines and protective measures becomes increasingly critical. What do you think: an overreaction from a high-profile actress or justified concern over potential copyright infringement?#AI #deepfakes #voicetechnology #responsibleai #ethics

Scarlett Johansson is mad at OpenAI for using a voice she considers to sound too much like hers, for its chatbot. Here is what happened and why it is a bigger problem: 1. Voice Replication Concerns 🎤: OpenAI's latest GPT 4o model doesn't only write, but also talk. One of the voices it uses is so indistinguishable from actress Scarlett Johansson, that according to her, not even her close friends can tell them apart. 2. Scarlett Johansson's Reaction 🛑: Johansson was shocked by the similarity and confirmed she had previously declined an offer from OpenAI to use her voice.3. Legal and Ethical Implications 📚: This incident highlights the broader issues of unauthorized use of voices and likenesses by AI. The legal system might not be prepared enough for these advancements, to protect everybody. The main problem is, that AIs don't just copy someone's work, but imitate their likeness, which is a concept very hard to defend in court. 4. Historical Context 🎬: Johansson's connection to the 2013 film "Her," where she voiced an AI assistant, adds an ironic twist to the current situation.5. Just Another Victim: Scar-Jo is far from being the only one to face this invasion of privacy and identity. Drake used Tupac Shakur’s voice without consent in his recent diss against Kendrick Lamar. Ironically, Drake has also been a target of AI voice imitation in the past. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #ChatGPT #VoiceCloning #EthicsInTech #ScarlettJohansson #OpenAI #TechNews #Innovation #PrivacyRights

Is OpenAI Voice Engine Beneficial or Harmful? #AIethics🤝 Follow us on Discord 🔜: https://lnkd.in/gt823Zd3🤝 Follow us on Whatsapp 🔜 https://wapia.in/wabeta_❇️ Summary: OpenAI has developed Voice Engine, a tool that generates natural speech resembling the original speaker in multiple languages. The technology can assist non-readers, children, and patients with speech impairments. Partners testing Voice Engine must adhere to usage policies, including obtaining consent from the original speaker and disclosing that the voices are AI-generated. OpenAI is cautious about releasing Voice Engine due to safety concerns, such as fraudulent scams and deceptive content. The company recommends safety approaches for voice technologies and is competing with Amazon's Alexa in the market. The FCC has announced that calls made with AI-generated voices will be considered "artificial" and illegal under the TCPA. Hashtags: #chatGPT #OpenAIVoiceValue#SocietalRisksAI
